Full Job Description : 

Tesla’s Engineering Automation Software department is currently looking for a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to focus on improving our internal manufacturing and supply chain computer vision platform for their Vision Automation team. This project will help to quickly introduce a new and innovative system that streamlines and improves the process of designing, building and delivering Tesla products, all over the world. Tesla’s Engineering Automation organization, as a whole, has the central technology part of the multicontinental Gigafactory network and our product line. Our operating system includes the most important programs of Tesla, such as Cybertruck, cell production, Robotaxi and new companies. We are responsible for making these processes and operations as intelligent and powerful as the products themselves.

As a member of the Vision Automation team, you will lead our software delivery efforts in Austin, Berlin, Reno, Fremont and beyond. We are currently looking for an experienced SRE to measure our infrastructure in multiple datacenters, where we keep the current CI pipeline, CD streams, git-ops and other tasks related to our high availability and heavy duty deps . InVision Automation engineers have the freedom to develop their recommendations, test, and eventually implement new technologies into the production line to better impact our business and customers.

What To Do:

Get the service (appliances) and non-service (availability, performance, safety and maintenance, cost) requirements for global shipping and logistics needs.
Interact with stakeholders across regions to understand deliverables
Complete installation requirements using monitoring tools and dashboards
Manage existing infrastructure deployed on both AWS and private Kubernetes clusters
Support the latest operational best practices, with a focus on automation
Write technical papers and racing papers

What To Bring:

BS in Computer Science/related field, or equivalent industry experience
Ability to orchestrate applications in AWS or private clouds, especially in Kubernetes, using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, ArgoCD, and Docker
Demonstrated ability to respond to production disruptions and implement long-term improvements
Familiarity with machine-to-machine communication concepts such as TCP/IP, web sockets and RPC
Understanding when to use and configure data brokers, such as Kafka and AWS Kinesis
The ability to choose the right storage system, such as relational databases (AWS RDS for Postgres, CockroachDB), cache (Redis, Elastic Search), S3 (public and private cloud), time series databases (InfluxDB, Prometheus) based on important application.
Experience with Go/Python/JS or other programming languages ​​is essential
