The Data Privacy Specialist will work under the direction of Delta’s Director of Privacy and Data Protection and be in charge of governance and operational tasks that protect the privacy of the airline’s customers and employees. To achieve this, privacy-by-design principles will be implemented throughout the entire organization, including subsidies, by working with Delta’s business partners and conducting privacy impact assessments (PIAs), post-production validations, and starting transfer impact assessments (TIAs). A candidate should be proficient in privacy laws and regulations, have experience managing projects or programs, and be able to communicate clearly with stakeholders at all levels.

On behalf of the organization’s Director of Privacy and Data Protection, assist with the administration and management of Delta’s data privacy program. Conduct PIAs and TIAs (transfer impact assessments) for projects involving the processing of personal data. help Delta’s business divisions, including its subsidiaries, abide by all pertinent privacy laws and rules. Your ability to recognize privacy risks, take action to mitigate them, and ensure that privacy considerations are made during the design of all business processes and projects will all be aided by working with cross-functional teams. Plan external audits to ensure that Delta’s privacy program is being followed.

 What you need to succeed (minimum requirements).
  •  a bachelor’s degree in business, law, computer science, or an area that is closely related.
  •  possessing at least four years experience working in the compliance, privacy, or related fields.
  •  solid understanding of all relevant privacy laws and regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, and others.
  •  an awareness of the procedures for carrying out privacy impact assessments (PIAs) and transfer impact assessments (TIAs).
  •  knowledge of using privacy by design principles when creating digital products, services, and processes.
  •  Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain complex privacy concepts to stakeholders who are not technical.
  •  Strong project management and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects at once.
  •  practical experience with technologies other than the Microsoft Office package.
  •  a working understanding of privacy controls, procedures, and policies.
