As a Senior Data Analyst, you will support all aspects of Target’s business through critical data analysis that enables team members to make meaningful decisions. Become a data scientist or business analyst and use tools like decision trees, clustering, regression, time series, hierarchical structure, linear programming, SAS, SQL, VBA, and OLAP. Use your skills, experience and expertise to contribute to new ideas and new goals. Liaising with company representatives focused on company leaders to support company requirements/requests for reporting. Determine the best method for collecting data and presenting information. Create reporting solutions to meet business needs. Communicate with the project leader to share knowledge and results. Document the design and requirements of the reporting solution. About You:
3 years of general industry experience with 3 years in a data science environment
Extensive hands-on experience with Domo, Tableau, and other visualization tools (including local platforms) and a deep understanding of key DW/BI concepts.
Strong skills in SQL or PL/SQL programming and Unix shell scripting
Hands-on experience with object-oriented or functional programming such as Scala and/or Python or Java
Must have a strong background in the Hadoop environment and its components around programming using Map-Reduce, must have experience developing Hive and Pig scripts, must have experience designing and developing Oozie workflows.
Git source code control
Experience working in an agile environment
Exposure to R, Python, Hive or other open source languages
Basic understanding of mathematics and statistics
Conceptual understanding of analytical techniques such as linear regression, logistic regression, time series, hierarchical regression, etc. Strong written and verbal communication skills to explain complex research processes to clients, regardless of client technical expertise.
Any experience in marketing, sales and marketing would be an asset
B.Tech/BE or equivalent Masters in Statistics/Econometrics/Mathematics.
