Full Job Description : 

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma, GED equivalent, or practical experience.
You are not currently enrolled in or have not completed an undergraduate, masters, or doctoral degree in a design-related field. Less than 1 year of relevant experience in user experience (UX) design through personal and/or professional projects, hobbies or online courses (portfolios will not be collected or reviewed).

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience using Google Workspace or a similar set of productivity tools. Experience working with customers and understanding how to address their needs.
Experience or familiarity with a design tool, including but not limited to Figma, Sketch or Adobe applications. Ability to manage multiple competing priorities by finding suitable solutions and seeking help/advice where appropriate.
Excellent communication and organizational skills, self-motivation, can-do attitude and excellent customer service skills. Enthusiasm and passion for new technologies, demonstrated through personal projects and commitment to learning new skills.

About Work:

As a user experience design (UX) intern at Google, you will develop the skills needed to pursue an entry-level career in user experience design (UX). You will apply your learned skills directly to product design and design language, shaping interactions and solving user needs through new and improved features. The user experience team is a key driving force behind gathering user information and using it to deliver enjoyable user experiences. You will learn from multiple UX disciplines such as UX designers, UX researchers, writers, UX engineers and UX program managers to create innovative, universally accessible and useful products and services.

Learning will begin on September 11, 2023 with a 3-week virtual onboarding experience, followed by an immersive 6-week virtual bootcamp with Google learning partner Multiverse to develop a fundamental understanding of the profession. Interns will then join a Google team for on-the-job training, continuing to participate in targeted internships and professional workshops throughout the program. As part of the program you will receive holistic career preparation support and towards the end of the program you will have the time and space to prepare for your next venture. A typical week in the life of a Google Learner will require 40 structured hours split between hands-on training and related technical education. A hybrid workweek will follow, which will involve working approximately 3 days a week in the office and 2 days from home or nearby, where you work best, whilst working to complete the skills required for your career. You will spend 1-2 days a week in virtual lessons with our 3rd party training provider, such as highlighting a particular concept or attending a professional development workshop. The remaining days are spent gaining hands-on experience through different projects on your Google team. This training is intended for individuals who want to learn and develop entry-level professional and technical skills in user experience (UX) design.
