Full Job Description :
As a Logistics Specialist, you will monitor data center inventory, inbound shipping, and in-progress to ensure appropriate inventory levels are maintained at all locations to support construction and maintenance operations. Together with the Logistics Manager, you will create a plan to optimize the flow of parts throughout their life cycle; identifies inventory status, movement, age and turnover. You will work closely with data center professionals and Data Center Engineers to execute quickly and efficiently.
As a Logistics Specialist, you will be responsible for accurate data entry and resolving queries from peer groups. Other duties include manual labor, such as assembling, answering questions, and arranging the shipment of products and materials. You can also help with daily pick-up and drop-off schedules and locations. When you handle inbound shipping, you unpack the boxes and check the contents. The Logistics Specialist will be required to maintain accurate records of all products entering and leaving the business. In addition, you will dive into the data to understand everything about the lifecycle of data center assets. You maintain an up-to-date metrics dashboard and create reports for external vendors and management as required.
Main Functions:
Works in a warehouse environment where noise levels can be high
Standing, sitting and walking for long periods of time.
Assist in loading and unloading shipments. Occasional exposure to extreme cold or hot temperatures
Working on and/or around moving parts
The temperature can vary between 60 and 90 degrees, but sometimes it will exceed 90 degrees
Eligibility Criteria:
You must be 18 years old
Training in logistics or equivalent
You must be able to lift up to 18 kilos and carry it for a short period of time
You can participate in group lifting of 20 kilos or more
You must be able to push or pull heavy objects into position
Working in a noisy environment
DISCLAIMER WANTED:
Advanced training or equivalent
Computer literate in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Good understanding of shipping and receiving, inventory and warehousing practices.
Knowledge of IT industry would be an advantage
Being on time; good organizational skills for the process; and the ability to focus on multiple tasks simultaneously to ensure departmental goals are met
Demonstrated good work ethic and leadership skills
Demonstrated ability to work at minimum for long periods of time
