The senior accounting manager leading the Corporate Accounting team will manage the accounting and SEC filing footnote disclosures for corporate treasury activities (investments, derivatives, debt), compensation and benefits (payroll, benefits, bonuses, stock-based compensation), and goodwill. To support important business initiatives, you will work with teams across Starbucks.

You will in your capacity as the corporate accounting senior manager.

Show inspiring leadership by sharing your goals and plans with the accounting team, fostering a positive work environment, and motivating your group to collaborate for success. In uncertain situations, project confidence and expertly lead the team through challenging changes. successfully influence decisions at all levels.
Control accounting procedures and provide clients, like senior management, with detailed instructions on the financial effects of new, existing, or proposed transactions. Ensure the timely and accurate reporting of financial results by US GAAP and Starbucks’ accounting principles.
Create fresh concepts and collaborate with others to put them into practice to improve the systems, internal checks, and working procedures that affect the month- and quarter-end financial close and reporting. Adopt a key leadership position to ensure the accounting track of the ongoing, multi-year project to move SAP from on-premises to the cloud is successfully delivered.
Coach and inspire a diverse team of partners, including managers, to accomplish business goals, challenge conventional wisdom, and strive for continuous improvement. This will help develop partners and build a high-performing team. Finding, retaining, and developing high-performing partners is essential if we are to meet the demands of our growing business. They must also keep providing considerate feedback during development discussions. Make sure your organizational structure is configured to best meet your needs by regularly evaluating it.

Please get in touch if you have:

Four or more years of experience in the field.
managing a team of accountants for a large, publicly traded, international company.
establishing, interpreting, and putting into practice accounting policies and procedures while maintaining a high level of internal control in an environment of rapid growth.

US GAAP is used for complex business transactions.

being able to express oneself clearly in a variety of settings and formats, such as when writing technical memos and explaining challenging accounting concepts to executives.
promoting talent development in an environment that values diversity.
A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required.
Experience with business intelligence and reporting tools, such as Hyperion and Oracle, is preferred.
CPA experience is a plus, as is experience in public accounting.
