What Does a Service Associate Do?
- Shows Reliability: Attendance and a dedication to being present for your entire shift each day are essential. By doing this, we can guarantee that we’ll be ready and available to assist our clients when they need us most. We expect our associates to be as proactive as they can be in their communication and planning for unforeseen events or issues.
- High Number of Contacts Handled: During a shift, you should expect to handle 50–60 phone calls. This is a highly structured, fast-paced environment. Since you usually have back-to-back calls during your shift, there isn’t much downtime in this job.
- Meets Our High-Performance Bar: You’ll strive to surpass customer satisfaction, excel at meeting customer service efficiency metrics, and carry out other duties as delegated.
- Engages Customers: You must have a love of people. You will represent Wayfair and work to forge connections with clients who get in touch with us via emails, chats, and inbound phone calls. The conversation can cover a variety of subjects, including deliveries, product availability, order status, and more.
- Actively Listens and Demonstrates Empathy: To quickly and completely solve the customer’s problem, you will actively listen to understand relevant customer information.
- De-Escalates Customer Concerns: The majority of our clients reach out to us because they’ve encountered a problem and require assistance. While always maintaining a professional demeanor, you will use your conflict management abilities to strike a balance between the customer’s needs and the options offered by the company.
- Customer service agents do not read from pre-populated scripts because no one solution fits all problems. To assist customers in finding the best solution, you will be given some autonomy. To resolve customer issues using a first-contact resolution strategy, you must think analytically.
- To answer questions quickly and accurately, you’ll need to juggle using several different browsers, tabs, tools, and screens. Familiarity with computers and the ability to use technology effectively daily are requirements for the ideal customer service representative.
- Escalates Systemic Issues: Please assist us in advancing constantly. You’ll pinpoint areas that require improvement and inform the leadership of these patterns.

What conditions must be met?
- You have to be at least 18 years old.
- You need to have a high school diploma, GED, or something comparable.
- A modem with a minimum internet speed of 25 Mbps (for downloads) and 5 Mbps (for uploads) will be needed for you to hardwire your computer to it. Wi-Fi access is not allowed to be used. Wayfair offers all other required computer hardware and accessories.
- the ability to operate Windows-based operating systems or something comparable.
- a quiet, dedicated workspace free from interruptions (including roommates, kids, spouses, pets, etc. ) or background noise (radio, television, etc. ).
- Wayfair wants to ensure your success. This is why our training is 100 percent mandatory. We are unable to accommodate any misses, time off, or tardiness during this time.
- Qualified applicants will be required to pass the candidate assessment to proceed with the interview process.
Training:
You will be required to attend 3 weeks of training beginning on your start date. Your training hours will be Monday – Friday 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM in your time zone unless otherwise discussed with your recruiter.
