Job Description:
As a General Merchandise Team Leader at Target, you will be responsible for overseeing a range of operations including sales, stocking, inventory, and guest service. You will work to ensure a positive, efficient, and smooth experience for both guests and team members. The role involves leading a team, managing day-to-day tasks, and implementing strategies to meet business goals.

Key Responsibilities:
- Guest Service Leadership: Prioritize a guest-first culture, ensuring high-quality service and assisting the team in delivering an exceptional experience.
- Sales & Inventory Management: Oversee product stocking, presentation, pricing, and promotional signage on the sales floor to meet business targets.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of hourly team members, providing coaching and performance assessments.
- Operational Efficiency: Ensure efficient processes for receiving, packing, and shipping goods, and maintaining inventory accuracy.
- Store Floor Management: Ensure that products are properly zoned, in stock, and available, while maintaining cleanliness and organization.
- Safety & Compliance: Promote a culture of safety and ensure all team members follow safety guidelines and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Experience: Previous sales or retail leadership experience is a plus, but not a requirement.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership abilities, including team management and accountability.
- Ability to manage inventory, sales trends, and merchandising strategies.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
- Adaptability to work with various technologies.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move merchandise up to 40 pounds, and work across different areas of the store.
