Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure accurate patient registration and service line enrollment.
- Verify insurance eligibility, handle pre-certifications and authorizations.
- Manage complex accounts and escalated issues.
- Perform cashiering functions and receive payments.
- Assist with departmental training, quality audits, and mentoring staff.
- Act as a liaison between clinical partners and patient access teams.
- Cover PBX (switchboard) duties when necessary.
- Lead team meetings and ensure department goals are met.
Qualifications:
- Required:
- 1 year of patient access experience
- 1 year of customer service experience
- Experience in collections
- High School diploma or GED
- Preferred:
- 2 years of patient access experience
- Associate degree in Health Services or related coursework
Desired Skills:
- Strong judgment and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft programs and databases
- Ability to handle complex instructions and multitask efficiently
- Experience in insurance, EMR systems, and medical terminology
- Leadership capabilities in mentoring and team coordination
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations (CMS, EMTALA, HIPAA)
