Cultivate and maintain gardens and outdoor spaces on the University of New Mexico campus.
Monitor and care for plants, including watering, pruning, fertilizing, and pest control.
Assist in the planning and design of new garden areas.
Collaborate with other team members to ensure a cohesive and aesthetically pleasing landscape.
Operate and maintain gardening equipment and tools.
Identify and address any plant diseases or issues.
Keep accurate records of plant inventory and maintenance activities.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
Educate and engage with students, staff, and visitors about the campus gardens and the importance of horticulture.
Stay up-to-date on current gardening techniques and trends.
Adhere to University policies and procedures.
Work efficiently and effectively to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
Participate in special projects and events related to gardening and horticulture.
Represent the University of New Mexico in a professional and positive manner.

Job Qualifications
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Gardening And Landscaping, Preferably In A Large-Scale Or Institutional Setting.
Knowledge Of Various Plant Species And Their Care, Including Pruning, Pest Control, And Soil Management.
Ability To Operate And Maintain Gardening Equipment, Such As Lawn Mowers, Trimmers, And Irrigation Systems.
Understanding Of Sustainable Gardening Practices And Experience With Organic Gardening Methods.
Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills, With The Ability To Work Independently And As Part Of A Team To Complete Tasks Efficiently And Effectively.
