Provide compassionate care to patients: The primary responsibility of the Per Diem Certified Nursing Assistant is to provide compassionate care to patients at Yale New Haven Health System. This includes assisting with daily living activities, monitoring patient health and reporting any changes to the medical team.
Work on a per diem basis: The CNA will have the opportunity to work on a per diem basis, allowing for a flexible schedule that fits their needs. This includes being available for shifts as needed, including weekends and holidays.
Meet required qualifications: The CNA must meet all required qualifications for the position, including having a current CNA certification and any other necessary certifications or training.
Collaborate with healthcare team: The CNA will work closely with other healthcare professionals such as nurses, doctors, and therapists to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients.
Maintain patient records: The CNA will be responsible for accurately documenting patient care and any changes in their condition in the electronic medical records system.
Ensure patient safety and comfort: The CNA will be responsible for ensuring the safety and comfort of patients at all times. This may include assisting with transfers, monitoring vital signs, and providing emotional support.
Adhere to all policies and procedures: The CNA must follow all policies and procedures set by Yale New Haven Health System, as well as state and federal regulations, to maintain a safe and effective work environment.
Communicate effectively: Effective communication is crucial in this role, as the CNA will need to communicate with patients, families, and the healthcare team to provide the best possible care.
Attend trainings and meetings: The CNA will be required to attend trainings and meetings to stay up-to-date on best practices and any changes in policies or procedures.

Job Qualifications
Current Cna Certification: Applicants For This Position Must Possess A Valid And Current Certified Nursing Assistant Certification From An Accredited Program.
Minimum Of 1 Year Experience: Candidates Should Have A Minimum Of 1 Year Experience Working As A Cna In A Healthcare Setting. Previous Experience At A Hospital Or Long-Term Care Facility Is Preferred.
Flexibility In Scheduling: This Position Requires Per Diem Availability, Meaning A Willingness To Work On An As-Needed Basis. Candidates Should Have A Flexible Schedule And Be Able To Work Weekends And Holidays.
Strong Communication Skills: As A Cna, The Ability To Communicate Effectively With Patients, Families, And Healthcare Team Members Is Essential. Candidates Should Possess Excellent Verbal And Written Communication Skills.
