Are you passionate about community development and empowering others? The City of Pittsburgh is seeking a dynamic and driven individual to lead our ROOTS team. As the ROOTS Team Lead, you will have the opportunity to shape and implement initiatives that promote sustainable and equitable growth in our city. In this role, you will work closely with community leaders, city officials, and various stakeholders to identify and address the needs of our neighborhoods. We are seeking someone with strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of community development principles. Lead the ROOTS team and oversee all community development initiatives in the City of Pittsburgh.
Collaborate with community leaders, city officials, and stakeholders to identify and address the needs of the neighborhoods.
Develop and implement strategies to promote sustainable and equitable growth in the city.
Provide strategic guidance and direction to the team, ensuring that all initiatives align with the city’s goals and objectives.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of community development initiatives and make necessary adjustments.
Foster strong relationships with community organizations and stakeholders to support and enhance the development of the city.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in community development, and incorporate these into the city’s initiatives.
Manage and allocate resources, including budget and staffing, to achieve the goals of the ROOTS team.
Train and develop team members, providing guidance and support to ensure their professional growth.
Represent the city and the ROOTS team in public events and meetings to promote community development initiatives.
Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations related to community development.
Develop and maintain partnerships with external organizations and agencies to leverage resources and maximize impact.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing regular updates and reports on the progress of community development initiatives.
Act as a liaison between the city and community members, addressing any concerns or issues that may arise.
Continuously assess and improve the effectiveness of the ROOTS team and its initiatives.

Job Qualifications
Minimum 5 Years Of Experience In Community Organizing And/Or Program Management.
Strong Understanding Of The City Of Pittsburgh’s Diversity And Social Justice Initiatives.
Proven Ability To Lead And Mentor A Team, Including Experience With Conflict Resolution And Performance Management.
Excellent Communication Skills, Both Written And Verbal, With The Ability To Effectively Collaborate With Various Stakeholders.
Bachelor’s Degree In A Related Field, Such As Social Work, Public Administration, Or Urban Planning.
