Conduct regular patrols of Yale New Haven Health System facilities to monitor for potential security threats and ensure the safety of employees and patients.
Respond promptly and appropriately to any security incidents or emergencies, including but not limited to medical emergencies, aggressive or disruptive behavior, and property damage.
Utilize security systems and equipment, including CCTV cameras, alarm systems, and access control systems, to maintain a secure environment.
Collaborate with other members of the protective services team, as well as law enforcement and emergency services personnel, to effectively respond to security incidents and ensure a coordinated and effective approach.
Maintain accurate and detailed records of all security incidents and activities, including written reports and incident logs.
Provide a visible and approachable presence to deter potential security threats and provide reassurance to employees and patients.
Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to stay current on best practices in security and emergency response.
Conduct investigations and gather evidence as needed for security incidents and violations.
Communicate effectively and professionally with all members of the Yale New Haven Health System community, including employees, patients, and visitors.
Adhere to all applicable laws and regulations, as well as Yale New Haven Health System policies and procedures, in the performance of duties.
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and handle all security matters with discretion and professionalism.
Serve as a role model for other protective services officers and provide mentorship and training as needed.
Continuously assess and identify potential security vulnerabilities and make recommendations for improvements to security protocols and procedures.
Assist with access control and monitoring of employee and visitor credentials.
Perform any other duties as assigned by the Protective Services Manager or other supervisory personnel.

Job Qualifications
Knowledge Of Security Procedures And Protocols, Including Emergency Response And Crisis Management.
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Law Enforcement Or Security Services, Preferably In A Healthcare Setting.
Must Possess A Valid State Driver’s License And Have A Clean Driving Record.
Certification In First Aid, Cpr, And Aed.
Excellent Communication Skills And Ability To Work Effectively With Diverse Populations In A Fast-Paced Environment.
