Safely transport patients to and from designated areas within the facility, including diagnostic and treatment areas, using appropriate transportation equipment.
Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor while interacting with patients, their families, and healthcare staff.
Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control measures to ensure the well-being of patients during transport.
Collaborate with nursing and support staff to prioritize and coordinate patient transportation needs.
Keep accurate records of patient transportation activities, including destinations, times, and any special instructions.
Respond promptly and efficiently to any emergency requests for patient transport.
Assist in the transfer of patients to and from stretchers, wheelchairs, and other transportation devices.
Maintain the cleanliness and functionality of transportation equipment and report any issues to the appropriate department.
Communicate any patient concerns or changes in condition to the nursing staff.
Attend all required trainings and meetings to stay current with transportation protocols and procedures.
Follow Baptist Health South Florida’s policies and procedures, including HIPAA regulations, at all times.
Demonstrate a commitment to providing exceptional customer service and promoting a positive image of Baptist Health South Florida.
Perform other duties as assigned by the transportation supervisor or nursing staff.

Job Qualifications
Valid Driver’s License And Clean Driving Record: A Transporter At Baptist Health South Florida Must Possess A Valid Driver’s License And Have A Clean Driving Record To Safely Transport Patients And Medical Equipment Between Different Locations.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Education Requirement For A Transporter Job At Baptist Health South Florida Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Ensures That The Candidate Has Basic Literacy And Numeracy Skills.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Transporter, One Must Communicate And Interact With Patients, Their Families, And Healthcare Professionals On A Daily Basis. Therefore, Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential For This Job.
Physical Fitness And Stamina: Transporters Are Required To Lift And Move Heavy Objects, Such As Patients And Medical Equipment, Throughout Their Shift. Therefore, Physical Fitness And Stamina Are Important Qualifications For This Job.
