These projects, by nature of their complexity and difficulty, require the fully competent application of conventional knowledge in a particular field of engineering or science. Through broader and more technically challenging work assignments, and will develop a thorough understanding of policies, methods, and procedures.<\/p>\n<p><b>What You Will Do:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Under the supervision of an experienced engineer or engineering manager, performs detailed engineering review of plans as assigned for compliance with applicable Rules, Regulations, and contract commitments.<\/li>\n<li>Proposes technical advice to field operations and other technical offices.<\/li>\n<li>Performs work that involves conventional engineering practices but may include moderately complex problems such as resolving conflicting design requirements, material standards, or coordinating activities among other disciplines.<\/li>\n<li>Proposes new approaches to problems encountered and makes recommendations for changes in methods, procedures, or designs.<\/li>\n<li>Drafts technically accurate and timely reports, and responses to letters, faxes, and other forms of communication.<\/li>\n<li>Works directly with clients to identify and resolve problems in the area of technical expertise.<\/li>\n<li>Communicates the status of the current workload&#8217;s status to all appropriate team members to ensure the clients&#8217; needs will be met.<\/li>\n<li>Works as a team member within the group. May work autonomously, once trained, with minimal supervision.<\/li>\n<li>Implements and maintains ABS Quality System requirements relative to responsibilities after undergoing ABS Quality System training.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>What You Will Need:<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Education and Experience<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>B.S. degree in Naval Architecture, Ocean Engineering, Marine, Mechanical or other related disciplines;<\/li>\n<li>Graduate from University and a minimum of three (3) years of related industry experience. Fresh graduates with relevant industrial experience and\/or specialization can apply.<\/li>\n<li>Preference for graduates from a marine-industry-recognized college or university.<\/li>\n<li>Relevant experience working in marine Classification Societies, design \/ consulting companies, shipbuilding, offshore engineering, or the oil &amp; gas industries, as well as familiarity with Classification Society Rules and international maritime regulations (for e.g. SOLAS, MARPOL, IMO MODU Code etc.) will be an advantage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For those with Hull backgrounds<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>B.S. degree in Naval Architecture, Ocean Engineering, or other related disciplines.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated computer literacy in engineering software.<\/li>\n<li>Exposed to the Finite Element Method (coursework or supervised research).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For those with Machinery backgrounds<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>B.S. degree in Marine, Mechanical, or other related disciplines.<\/li>\n<li>Seagoing engineering license or professional\/chartered engineer license.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Knowledge of related technical disciplines required.<\/li>\n<li>The ability to identify, analyze and propose solutions to problems.<\/li>\n<li>Good command of the English language.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to communicate orally and in writing.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work well with others.<\/li>\n<li>Able to obtain a working knowledge of the ABS Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental Management Systems.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Reporting Relationships:<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Will report to a Director or Manager.<\/p>\n<p><b>Working Conditions:<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The work environment will primarily be an air-conditioned office setting requiring the employee to sit for prolonged periods while concentrating on a computer screen.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"css-nijnu8 e15p7aqh1\" role=\"separator\" aria-orientation=\"horizontal\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\" role=\"separator\" aria-orientation=\"horizontal\"><a href=\"https:\/\/joblagii.com\/job-application\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-5949\" src=\"https:\/\/mlmsky.com\/jobs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/APPLY-NOW-button-01-300x145.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"145\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Full job description The Engineer designs, reviews, and analyzes assignments normally involving a major project or several smaller or less complex projects.
