The City of Pittsburgh is seeking a POST Certified Peer Recovery Specialist to join our team and provide vital support to individuals in need. Conduct one-on-one peer support sessions with individuals struggling with substance abuse, providing empathy, understanding, and guidance.<\/p>\n
Create and implement personalized recovery plans for each individual, utilizing evidence-based practices and techniques.<\/p>\n
Maintain a safe and supportive environment for individuals in recovery, ensuring confidentiality and respect for their journey.<\/p>\n
Collaborate with other members of the recovery team, including counselors, therapists, and medical professionals, to provide comprehensive support to individuals.<\/p>\n
Participate in regular training and education to stay up-to-date on the latest developments in addiction and recovery.<\/p>\n
Serve as a positive role model for individuals in recovery, sharing personal experiences and offering hope and inspiration.<\/p>\n
Assist in connecting individuals with resources and services in the community, such as support groups, job training, and housing assistance.<\/p>\n
Document progress and maintain accurate records of each individual’s recovery journey.<\/p>\n
Provide crisis intervention and support as needed, including making referrals for emergency services.<\/p>\n
Act as a liaison between individuals and their families, providing education and support to loved ones.<\/p>\n
Attend team meetings and contribute to the development of recovery programs and services.<\/p>\n
Adhere to all ethical standards and codes of conduct for peer recovery specialists.<\/p>\n
Continuously evaluate and improve upon the effectiveness of support services provided.<\/p>\n
Serve as an advocate for individuals in recovery, promoting understanding and acceptance in the community.<\/p>\n
Demonstrate a commitment to personal growth and ongoing recovery in order to better support individuals on their own journeys.<\/p>\n

Job Qualifications<\/p>\n
Completion Of A Post-Certified Peer Recovery Specialist Training Program<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In The Field Of Substance Abuse And\/Or Mental Health<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Knowledge And Understanding Of Evidence-Based Practices For Recovery Support Services<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Ability To Effectively Communicate And Establish Rapport With Individuals In Recovery And Their Families<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Familiarity With The City Of Pittsburgh’s Resources And Community Support Services For Individuals In Recovery.<\/p>\n
