Greet and welcome visitors to the farmers’ market in a friendly and professional manner.<\/p>\n
Engage with visitors and promote the benefits of buying from local farmers and supporting small businesses.<\/p>\n
Ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the market by setting up and organizing vendor spaces, directing traffic, and assisting with vendor needs.<\/p>\n
Monitor the market area to ensure cleanliness and safety standards are maintained at all times.<\/p>\n
Provide excellent customer service by answering questions, resolving complaints, and assisting with any issues that may arise.<\/p>\n
Collect and record vendor fees, maintain accurate records, and assist with financial transactions.<\/p>\n
Act as a liaison between vendors and market management, communicating any concerns or suggestions to improve the market experience.<\/p>\n
Promote upcoming markets and events through social media and other marketing channels.<\/p>\n
Assist with market setup and breakdown, including lifting and moving equipment and supplies.<\/p>\n
Attend trainings and meetings as required to stay updated on market operations and procedures.<\/p>\n
Serve as a positive and knowledgeable representative of the City of Pittsburgh and the farmers’ market program.<\/p>\n
Embrace the values of sustainability and healthy eating, and actively promote these principles within the community.<\/p>\n
Maintain a positive and collaborative working relationship with other market staff and volunteers.<\/p>\n

Customer Service Skills: The Farmers’ Market Site Attendant Will Be Responsible For Interacting With Customers, Vendors, And The General Public. Therefore, Excellent Customer Service Skills Are Essential For This Role.<\/p>\n

Physical Ability: This Position Requires The Ability To Perform Physical Tasks Such As Setting Up And Tearing Down Market Stalls, Lifting And Carrying Heavy Items, And Standing For Long Periods Of Time.<\/p>\n
