Provide legal counsel: The Assistant City Solicitor will be responsible for providing legal advice and guidance to the city on matters related to labor and employment law.<\/p>\n
Represent the city: The individual in this role will serve as the city’s representative in legal proceedings related to labor and employment law, including arbitration hearings, mediations, and court appearances.<\/p>\n
Conduct legal research: The Assistant City Solicitor will be expected to conduct thorough research on relevant laws, regulations, and case precedents to support the city’s position in legal matters.<\/p>\n
Draft legal documents: This position will require the drafting of legal documents such as contracts, agreements, pleadings, and memos related to labor and employment law.<\/p>\n
Advise on policy development: The individual will work closely with city officials to develop and implement policies and procedures in compliance with labor and employment laws.<\/p>\n
Stay updated on labor and employment laws: It will be the responsibility of the Assistant City Solicitor to stay informed about any changes or updates to labor and employment laws and advise the city accordingly.<\/p>\n
Collaborate with department heads: The selected candidate will work closely with department heads and HR professionals to provide guidance and support on labor and employment issues.<\/p>\n
Conduct trainings: The Assistant City Solicitor may be responsible for conducting trainings for city employees on topics related to labor and employment law.<\/p>\n
Monitor legal developments: The individual will be expected to monitor legal developments and trends in labor and employment law and advise the city on potential impacts.<\/p>\n
Uphold ethical standards: As a representative of the city’s legal team, the Assistant City Solicitor will be expected to uphold the highest ethical standards and maintain confidentiality in all matters.<\/p>\n

Job Qualifications<\/p>\n
Juris Doctor (Jd) Degree From An Accredited Law School.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Active Membership In The Pennsylvania State Bar.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience Practicing Labor And Employment Law.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Knowledge Of Federal And State Labor And Employment Laws And Regulations.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Experience Representing Public Sector Clients, Preferably In A Municipal Setting.<\/p>\n
