Develop and implement infection control policies and procedures to ensure the safety of patients, staff, and visitors.<\/p>\n
Conduct regular infection control assessments and audits to identify potential risks and areas for improvement.<\/p>\n
Collaborate with healthcare staff to provide education and training on infection control practices and protocols.<\/p>\n
Monitor and evaluate compliance with infection control measures and make recommendations for improvement.<\/p>\n
Investigate and report any suspected or confirmed cases of healthcare-associated infections.<\/p>\n
Stay up-to-date on current infection control guidelines and best practices to ensure the organization is following industry standards.<\/p>\n
Serve as a resource for staff regarding infection prevention and control, addressing any questions or concerns.<\/p>\n
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement infection control plans for patients with complex medical conditions.<\/p>\n
Participate in the development and implementation of emergency response plans for infectious disease outbreaks.<\/p>\n
Maintain accurate records and reports related to infection control activities and communicate findings to appropriate parties.<\/p>\n
Conduct infection control training for new staff members and provide ongoing education to ensure staff are following proper protocols.<\/p>\n
Act as a liaison with local health departments and other agencies to ensure compliance with infection control regulations.<\/p>\n
Identify and address any potential infection control hazards in the facility and work to mitigate risks.<\/p>\n
Collaborate with the Quality Improvement team to develop strategies for reducing healthcare-associated infections.<\/p>\n
Serve as a role model for infection control practices and promote a culture of safety and compliance throughout the organization.<\/p>\n

Job Qualifications<\/p>\n
Minimum Of A Bachelor’s Degree In Nursing (Bsn) From An Accredited Institution: A Bsn Is The Standard Educational Requirement For Registered Nurses And Provides A Strong Foundation In Nursing Theory, Research, And Practice.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Active And Unrestricted Registered Nurse (Rn) License In The State Of Employment: A Current And Valid Rn License Is Essential For Practicing As A Registered Nurse And Ensures That The Individual Has Met The State’s Education And Competency Requirements.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Certification In Infection Control (Cic) Or Willingness To Obtain: Having A Cic Certification Demonstrates Advanced Knowledge And Expertise In Infection Prevention And Control, Which Is Crucial For This Role.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
At Least 2 Years Of Nursing Experience In Infection Prevention And Control: Previous Experience In Infection Prevention And Control Is Highly Desired For This Position, As It Allows The Individual To Have A Solid Understanding Of Infection Control Practices And Procedures.<\/p>\n

Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As An Infection Preventionist, The Individual Will Be Required To Collaborate With Various Healthcare Professionals, Including Physicians, Nurses, And Administrators.
