Serve as a Standardized Patient for the University of New Mexico, performing scripted medical scenarios for students in the healthcare field.<\/p>\n
Contribute to the experiential learning of students by providing a realistic and accurate portrayal of a patient.<\/p>\n
Utilize your life experiences and skills to help students develop their communication, assessment, and critical thinking skills.<\/p>\n
Attend training sessions and maintain a thorough understanding of the assigned medical scenario.<\/p>\n
Provide feedback and evaluations to students on their performance.<\/p>\n
Create a welcoming and professional environment for students to learn and practice their skills.<\/p>\n
Follow all guidelines and protocols set by the university and healthcare faculty.<\/p>\n
Collaborate with other Standardized Patients and faculty to continuously improve the program.<\/p>\n
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.<\/p>\n
Serve as a positive role model for students and represent the university in a positive manner.<\/p>\n

Job Qualifications<\/p>\n
Extensive Experience: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience As A Standardized Patient Or In A Related Healthcare Field, Such As Nursing Or Healthcare Education.<\/p>\n

Reliability And Flexibility: The Role Of A Standardized Patient Requires A High Level Of Reliability And Flexibility, As They Will Be Expected To Adhere To A Strict Schedule And Be Available For Multiple Sessions Throughout The Year.<\/p>\n

Excellent Communication Skills: The Candidate Should Possess Excellent Communication Skills, Both Verbal And Written, In Order To Effectively Portray A Patient And Provide Feedback To Trainees.<\/p>\n

Empathy And Professionalism: Standardized Patients Should Possess A High Level Of Empathy And Professionalism In Order To Accurately Portray A Patient And Provide A Realistic Learning Experience For Trainees.<\/p>\n
