Collect and process blood samples from patients in a timely and efficient manner.<\/p>\n
Ensure accurate labeling and storage of blood samples to maintain sample integrity.<\/p>\n
Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and sterile work environment.<\/p>\n
Communicate effectively with patients to ensure they are informed and comfortable during the blood collection process.<\/p>\n
Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient information and test results.<\/p>\n
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure proper identification and collection of blood samples.<\/p>\n
Perform venipunctures and capillary punctures according to established procedures.<\/p>\n
Monitor and report any abnormalities or complications during the blood collection process.<\/p>\n
Stay updated on the latest techniques and procedures in phlebotomy to ensure efficient and accurate sample collection.<\/p>\n
Provide exceptional customer service and demonstrate compassion and empathy towards patients.<\/p>\n
Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.<\/p>\n
Assist with inventory management and ordering of necessary supplies.<\/p>\n

Job Qualifications<\/p>\n
Completion Of A Phlebotomy Program: A Phlebotomist At Baptist Health South Florida Is Required To Have Completed An Accredited Phlebotomy Program In Order To Ensure Proper Training And Knowledge Of Venipuncture Techniques.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Certification: Candidates Must Have A Valid Certification From A Nationally Recognized Organization Such As The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp) Or The National Healthcareer Association (Nha).<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Previous Experience: Prior Experience In A Healthcare Setting, Preferably In A Hospital Or Clinical Setting, Is Highly Desired To Ensure The Candidate Is Familiar With The Environment And Procedures.<\/p>\n

Knowledge Of Medical Terminology: A Phlebotomist At Baptist Health South Florida Must Have A Strong Understanding Of Medical Terminology To Accurately Identify And Label Blood Samples And Communicate With Healthcare Professionals.<\/p>\n
