You must also have a current certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) and maintain a current BLS certification. Provide exceptional patient care during surgical procedures while maintaining a safe and sterile environment.<\/p>\n
Collaborate and communicate effectively with surgeons, nurses, and other members of the surgical team to ensure efficient and coordinated care.<\/p>\n
Prepare and maintain surgical equipment, instruments, and supplies to ensure their proper functionality and availability during procedures.<\/p>\n
Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and assist in the positioning and draping of patients.<\/p>\n
Perform pre-operative patient assessments to ensure all necessary preparations are completed prior to surgery.<\/p>\n
Maintain accurate documentation of surgical procedures and patient information.<\/p>\n
Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations, to ensure patient safety and compliance.<\/p>\n
Continuously monitor and maintain a sterile environment during surgical procedures to prevent infection.<\/p>\n
Assist in the transportation of patients to and from the operating room and monitor their comfort and safety throughout the process.<\/p>\n
Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with new technologies and techniques in surgical technology.<\/p>\n
Maintain a professional and compassionate demeanor when interacting with patients and their families, providing emotional support as needed.<\/p>\n
Adhere to all ethical and legal standards of practice and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.<\/p>\n
Assist in the orientation and training of new surgical technologists and students as needed.<\/p>\n
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.<\/p>\n

Certified Surgical Technologist (Cst) Certification: Candidates Must Hold A Current Cst Certification From The National Board Of Surgical Technology And Surgical Assisting (Nbstsa) To Be Considered For A Surgical Technologist Position At Yale New Haven Health System.<\/p>\n

Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience: The Ideal Candidate Will Have A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working As A Surgical Technologist In A Hospital Or Surgical Center Setting. This Experience Should Include A Variety Of Surgical Procedures And Specialties.<\/p>\n
