Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Assist in preparing the operating room for pediatric surgical procedures, ensuring that all necessary equipment and supplies are available and in proper working order.<\/p>\n
Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and other medical personnel to ensure a safe and efficient surgical environment for pediatric patients.<\/p>\n
Maintain strict adherence to sterile techniques and infection control measures during procedures.<\/p>\n
Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and provide appropriate instruments, supplies, and equipment during procedures.<\/p>\n
Monitor and document patient vital signs and assist with positioning and draping of patients.<\/p>\n
Prepare and handle specimens for laboratory analysis.<\/p>\n
Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of all procedures, supplies used, and patient information.<\/p>\n
Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, as well as industry standards and regulations.<\/p>\n
Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain knowledge and skills in pediatric surgical procedures.<\/p>\n
Ensure the safety and comfort of pediatric patients before, during, and after surgical procedures.<\/p>\n
Clean and restock the operating room after each procedure.<\/p>\n
Assist with patient transport to and from the operating room.<\/p>\n
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care for pediatric patients.<\/p>\n
Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing education and support as needed.<\/p>\n
Adhere to ethical and legal standards in all aspects of job performance.<\/p>\n

Job Qualifications<\/p>\n
Certified Surgical Technologist (Cst) Credential Through The National Board Of Surgical Technology And Surgical Assisting (Nbstsa).<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience As A Surgical Technologist In An Operating Room, With A Focus On Pediatric Surgeries.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Knowledge And Understanding Of Pediatric Surgical Procedures, Instruments, And Equipment.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills With The Ability To Work Effectively In A Fast-Paced And High-Stress Environment.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Familiarity With Electronic Medical Record Systems And Proficiency In Documenting Surgical Procedures And Patient Information Accurately.<\/p>\n
