Provide exceptional patient care: The Registered Nurse in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit will be responsible for providing high-quality and compassionate care to critically ill patients.<\/p>\n
Perform critical care nursing: The RN must have a strong background and experience in critical care nursing in order to effectively assess, monitor, and manage the care of critically ill patients.<\/p>\n
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team: The RN will work closely with other healthcare professionals including physicians, respiratory therapists, and pharmacists to develop and implement individualized care plans for each patient.<\/p>\n
Administer medications and treatments: The RN will be responsible for administering medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician, ensuring accuracy and safety.<\/p>\n
Monitor and assess patient condition: The RN will closely monitor and assess patients’ vital signs, symptoms, and overall condition, and report any changes or concerns to the healthcare team.<\/p>\n
Educate patients and families: The RN will provide education and support to patients and their families, helping them understand the care plan and providing them with the necessary resources for post-discharge care.<\/p>\n
Maintain accurate documentation: The RN will be responsible for accurately documenting all patient information, including assessments, interventions, and outcomes, in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.<\/p>\n
Adhere to infection control protocols: The RN will follow all infection control protocols to ensure the safety and well-being of patients, staff, and visitors.<\/p>\n
Participate in quality improvement initiatives: The RN will actively participate in quality improvement initiatives to promote the delivery of safe, effective, and efficient care.<\/p>\n
Adhere to professional standards and ethical principles: The RN will adhere to the professional standards and ethical principles set forth by the nursing profession, as well as the policies and procedures of Yale New Haven Health System.<\/p>\n
