Provide high-quality respiratory care to patients of all ages in accordance with established policies and procedures.<\/p>\n
Administer and monitor respiratory treatments and therapies, including oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, and mechanical ventilation.<\/p>\n
Assess patients’ respiratory status and make appropriate recommendations for treatment and interventions.<\/p>\n
Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.<\/p>\n
Educate patients and their families on respiratory conditions, treatment plans, and self-care techniques.<\/p>\n
Perform diagnostic tests and interpret results to assist with diagnosis and treatment planning.<\/p>\n
Document all patient interactions and treatments accurately and in a timely manner.<\/p>\n
Maintain and operate respiratory equipment and ensure cleanliness and safety standards are met.<\/p>\n
Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a safe and sanitary work environment.<\/p>\n
Attend and actively participate in team meetings and continuing education opportunities.<\/p>\n
Keep up-to-date with advancements in respiratory therapy and incorporate new techniques and treatments into practice.<\/p>\n
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues to ensure a positive and comfortable healthcare experience.<\/p>\n
Comply with all hospital and regulatory standards and guidelines.<\/p>\n
Assist in emergency situations and respond to codes as needed.<\/p>\n
Maintain confidentiality and respect patient privacy at all times.<\/p>\n

Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development and implementation of new policies and procedures.<\/p>\n
Support and mentor other respiratory therapy staff as needed.<\/p>\n

Job Qualifications<\/p>\n
Bachelor’s Degree In Respiratory Therapy Or Related Field From An Accredited Institution.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Current And Valid Respiratory Therapist License Issued By The State Of Connecticut.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Clinical Experience In A Hospital Setting, Preferably In An Academic Medical Center.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Proficient In Various Respiratory Therapy Techniques, Including Mechanical Ventilation, Oxygen Therapy, And Airway Management.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Collaborate With A Multidisciplinary Healthcare Team.<\/p>\n
