Provide companionship and emotional support to patients during their stay at the hospital.<\/p>\n
Monitor and assist patients with basic needs, such as eating, drinking, and toileting.<\/p>\n
Communicate effectively with patients and their families to ensure their needs are met.<\/p>\n
Report any changes in patient condition or behavior to the nursing staff.<\/p>\n
Follow all safety protocols and infection control measures to ensure the well-being of patients.<\/p>\n
Collaborate with healthcare team members to create a positive and comfortable environment for patients.<\/p>\n
Maintain patient confidentiality and respect patient privacy at all times.<\/p>\n
Assist with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming, as needed.<\/p>\n
Adhere to hospital policies and procedures and follow all instructions given by supervising healthcare professionals.<\/p>\n
Attend training sessions and educational programs to enhance knowledge and skills.<\/p>\n
Act as a liaison between patients and healthcare staff, conveying patient concerns and needs.<\/p>\n
Provide support and encouragement to patients, promoting a positive and healing environment.<\/p>\n
Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.<\/p>\n

Job Qualifications<\/p>\n
High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Patient Companion In The Float Pool At Cleveland Clinic Must Have A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Education.<\/p>\n

Previous Healthcare Experience: Candidates For This Position Should Have Previous Experience In A Healthcare Setting, Preferably As A Patient Companion Or In A Similar Role.<\/p>\n

Excellent Communication Skills: Effective Communication Is Essential In This Role, As Patient Companions Will Be Interacting With Patients, Family Members, And Healthcare Providers On A Daily Basis.<\/p>\n

Basic Medical Knowledge: While Not Required, Having A Basic Understanding Of Medical Terminology And Procedures Can Be Beneficial In This Role.<\/p>\n
