Provide legal guidance and support to Azusa Pacific University in all areas of operations, including academic, administrative, and business matters.<\/p>\n
Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies at the local, state, and federal levels.<\/p>\n
Protect the interests and reputation of Azusa Pacific University by identifying and mitigating potential legal risks.<\/p>\n
Advise university leadership on legal matters and potential implications of decisions.<\/p>\n
Review and negotiate contracts and agreements with external parties, including vendors, partners, and contractors.<\/p>\n
Conduct legal research and stay updated on changes in laws and regulations that may affect the university.<\/p>\n
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as department heads and faculty, to address legal issues and provide training on relevant legal topics.<\/p>\n
Manage and oversee external legal counsel, ensuring efficient and effective communication and collaboration.<\/p>\n
Participate in the development and implementation of university policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal requirements.<\/p>\n
Represent the university in legal proceedings, including litigation, arbitration, and mediation.<\/p>\n
Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.<\/p>\n
Uphold and promote the mission, values, and Christian faith of Azusa Pacific University.<\/p>\n

Juris Doctor (Jd) Degree From An Accredited Law School<\/p>\n

Active Membership In Good Standing With The State Bar Of California<\/p>\n

Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience Practicing Law, Preferably In A Higher Education Setting<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Knowledge Of Federal And State Laws And Regulations Related To Higher Education, Including Title Ix, Ferpa, And Ada<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Advise And Collaborate With University Leadership, Faculty, And Staff.<\/p>\n
