Provide individualized coaching and support to military and veteran students, helping them navigate the transition from military to civilian life.<\/p>\n
Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the unique challenges and needs of military and veteran students.<\/p>\n
Collaborate with other university departments and resources to ensure comprehensive support and resources for military and veteran students.<\/p>\n
Serve as a liaison between the university and various military and veteran organizations to enhance support and resources for students.<\/p>\n
Develop and implement programs and initiatives to promote inclusivity and support for military and veteran students at the university.<\/p>\n
Keep up to date with current policies and regulations regarding military and veteran education benefits.<\/p>\n
Maintain confidential and accurate records of interactions with students and provide regular reports on student progress to university administrators.<\/p>\n
Serve as an advocate for military and veteran students, addressing any concerns or issues that may arise.<\/p>\n
Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills related to working with military and veteran students.<\/p>\n
Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for all students, regardless of their military or veteran status.<\/p>\n
Act as a mentor and role model for military and veteran students, providing guidance and support as they navigate their academic and personal journeys.<\/p>\n
Continuously evaluate and improve services and support for military and veteran students based on feedback and data.<\/p>\n
Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and external organizations to promote the services and resources available for military and veteran students.<\/p>\n
Uphold the values and mission of the university, promoting a culture of inclusivity and support for all individuals.<\/p>\n
Serve as a positive and professional representative of the university and the Military and Veteran Coach role at all times.<\/p>\n

Job Qualifications<\/p>\n
Experience In The Military Or Veteran Community: The Ideal Candidate For A Military & Veteran Coach At Asuza Pacific University Should Have Firsthand Experience In The Military Or Veteran Community. This Could Include Serving In The Military Or Being A Veteran Themselves, Or Having Experience Working With Military Or Veteran Populations In A Professional Setting.<\/p>\n

Knowledge Of Military And Veteran Resources: A Strong Understanding Of The Unique Challenges And Needs Of Military And Veteran Students Is Essential For A Successful Coach. This Includes Knowledge Of Available Resources Such As Gi Bill Benefits, Mental Health Services, And Transition Support Programs.<\/p>\n

Coaching Or Counseling Experience: As A Military & Veteran Coach, The Ability To Provide Effective Coaching And Counseling To Students Is Critical. The Ideal Candidate Should Have Experience In A Coaching Or Counseling Role, With A Focus On Supporting Individuals In Achieving Their Goals.<\/p>\n

Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Military And Veteran Students May Face A Variety Of Challenges And May Require A Compassionate And Understanding Coach. Therefore, Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Necessary For Building Trust And Rapport With Students.<\/p>\n

Familiarity With Higher Education Systems: Asuza Pacific University Is A Higher Education Institution, So A General Understanding Of The Higher Education System Is Important. This Includes Knowledge Of Academic Policies, Financial Aid Processes, And Student Support Services. Additionally, Experience Working In A University Setting Is Preferred.<\/p>\n
