Develop and implement strategies for protecting Canon’s intellectual property through patent filings and prosecution.<\/p>\n
Conduct thorough research and analysis of existing patents and technologies to identify potential patent infringement risks and opportunities.<\/p>\n
Collaborate with research and development teams to identify and evaluate potential inventions for patent protection.<\/p>\n
Prepare and file patent applications and responses to office actions with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and other patent offices worldwide.<\/p>\n
Manage and maintain a large portfolio of patents, including monitoring patent expiration dates and coordinating with outside counsel for patent maintenance and annuities.<\/p>\n
Provide guidance and support to business leaders on intellectual property matters, including patentability, validity, and infringement.<\/p>\n
Collaborate with legal team members to ensure compliance with patent laws and regulations.<\/p>\n
Communicate and negotiate with external parties, such as patent examiners, attorneys, and business partners, to secure patent approvals and resolve patent disputes.<\/p>\n
Stay up-to-date on changes in patent laws and regulations and provide recommendations for adapting patent strategies accordingly.<\/p>\n
Train and educate employees on patent law and the importance of protecting intellectual property.<\/p>\n
Participate in patent litigation and other legal proceedings as needed.<\/p>\n
Maintain accurate and organized records of all patent-related activities and information.<\/p>\n

Juris Doctor (Jd) Degree From An Accredited Law School<\/p>\n

Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Patent Law, Including Drafting And Prosecuting Patent Applications<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Strong Understanding Of Patent Laws And Regulations, Both Domestic And International<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
