Welcome to the City of Pittsburgh! We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as the ROOTS Senior Outreach Specialist. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of our senior citizens by providing vital resources and support. We are looking for someone with a strong commitment to community outreach and a deep understanding of the unique needs of our aging population. If you have a desire to serve and the qualifications listed below, we encourage you to apply for this rewarding position.
Develop and implement outreach strategies to reach senior citizens in the Pittsburgh community, including partnering with local organizations and utilizing various communication channels.
Conduct needs assessments to identify the specific needs and challenges of the aging population in Pittsburgh.
Plan and coordinate outreach events and programs aimed at providing resources and support to senior citizens.
Serve as a liaison between the City of Pittsburgh and other agencies, organizations, and programs that serve senior citizens.
Build and maintain relationships with community members, senior citizens, and their families to better understand their needs and concerns.
Provide one-on-one support and assistance to senior citizens in accessing resources and services, including but not limited to healthcare, housing, and transportation.
Develop and maintain a database of resources and services available for senior citizens in the Pittsburgh area.
Stay updated on policies, laws, and regulations that affect senior citizens and advocate for their rights and needs.
Collaborate with other departments within the City of Pittsburgh to ensure a coordinated and comprehensive approach to serving senior citizens.
Prepare and present reports on program activities, outcomes, and impact to management and other stakeholders.

Job Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree In Social Work, Community Development, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 3 Years Experience Working With Older Adults And/Or Senior Citizen Programs.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Engage And Build Relationships With Diverse Populations.
Knowledge Of Community Resources And Programs Available For Seniors In The City Of Pittsburgh.
Familiarity With Data Collection And Reporting Processes, As Well As Experience In Program Evaluation And Development.
