Perform routine maintenance tasks such as mowing, trimming, and edging to ensure the health and appearance of campus lawns and turf areas.
Operate and maintain various equipment, including but not limited to lawn mowers, weed eaters, and leaf blowers, in a safe and efficient manner.
Monitor and identify potential issues with turf and soil health, and provide recommendations for improvement.
Apply fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides as needed, following all safety protocols and regulations.
Install and repair irrigation systems to ensure proper watering and drainage of turf areas.
Collaborate with other members of the groundskeeping team to plan and execute landscaping projects.
Communicate effectively with university staff and students to address any concerns or requests related to turf and landscaping.
Maintain accurate records and documentation of maintenance tasks, inventory, and equipment usage.
Continuously stay informed about industry trends and best practices for turf maintenance and make recommendations for improvement.
Adhere to university policies and procedures, as well as local and state regulations, in all aspects of turf maintenance.
Demonstrate a commitment to safety by regularly inspecting equipment and work areas and promptly reporting any hazards or incidents.
Assist with snow removal and other groundskeeping tasks as needed.
Attend regular staff meetings and training sessions to stay updated on university policies and procedures, as well as new equipment and techniques.
Represent the university in a professional and positive manner at all times.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Job Qualifications
A Bachelor’s Degree In Turf Management, Horticulture, Or A Related Field.
At Least 2 Years Of Experience Working In Turf Maintenance Or Management, Preferably In A University Or Large-Scale Setting.
Knowledge Of And Experience With Various Turfgrass Species, Fertilization And Irrigation Techniques, And Pest And Disease Management.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, As The Job May Involve Working With Other University Departments, Sports Teams, And Event Organizers.
A Valid Driver’s License And The Ability To Operate And Maintain Turf Equipment, Such As Mowers, Aerators, And Irrigation Systems.
