Provide high-quality respiratory care to patients of all ages in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Administer and monitor respiratory treatments and therapies, including oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, and mechanical ventilation.
Assess patients’ respiratory status and make appropriate recommendations for treatment and interventions.
Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
Educate patients and their families on respiratory conditions, treatment plans, and self-care techniques.
Perform diagnostic tests and interpret results to assist with diagnosis and treatment planning.
Document all patient interactions and treatments accurately and in a timely manner.
Maintain and operate respiratory equipment and ensure cleanliness and safety standards are met.
Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a safe and sanitary work environment.
Attend and actively participate in team meetings and continuing education opportunities.
Keep up-to-date with advancements in respiratory therapy and incorporate new techniques and treatments into practice.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues to ensure a positive and comfortable healthcare experience.
Comply with all hospital and regulatory standards and guidelines.
Assist in emergency situations and respond to codes as needed.
Maintain confidentiality and respect patient privacy at all times.
Demonstrate a commitment to the mission and values of Yale New Haven Health System.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development and implementation of new policies and procedures.
Support and mentor other respiratory therapy staff as needed.
Adhere to professional and ethical standards of conduct.
Perform other duties as assigned by the respiratory therapy manager or supervisor.

Job Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree In Respiratory Therapy Or Related Field From An Accredited Institution.
Current And Valid Respiratory Therapist License Issued By The State Of Connecticut.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Clinical Experience In A Hospital Setting, Preferably In An Academic Medical Center.
Proficient In Various Respiratory Therapy Techniques, Including Mechanical Ventilation, Oxygen Therapy, And Airway Management.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Collaborate With A Multidisciplinary Healthcare Team.
